Look Mom, I Made a Funny!

Is what Aurora says when she wants to tell me a joke or act goofy. Robert was getting ready for work thins morning and even though he still had 20 minutes before he had to leave Sage was very worried about him being on time. He finally said

"Dad, you have to be on time or you'll get fired and then you won't have a job and you'll be home all day and we won't be able to fun things with you home, only Mom does fun things with us."

It was pretty funny! The funniest thing said this weekend came out of Aurora's mouth. Robert was in the kitchen making honey mustard dressing. Aurora walked in and saw him mixing the mustard, honey and lemon juice together. She flipped out and said

"Dad what are you doing?! Are you trying to poison me with that?!"

Our kids are seriously the funniest things ever and often provide us with free entertainment.

Tire Swing

The kids have been begging for a tire swing for quite awhile. Last month we had to have a tire completely replaced so we brought it home to turn into a swing. They've been out there all day today and boy are they gonna need a bath tonight.

Family Day

We got up bright and early today and headed to Sea World to spend a few hours riding some rides and see some animals. We arrived at 9am when they opened and stayed till 11:30 just as it was getting busy. Sage and Robert rode Shipwreck Rapids, Wild Artic and Sage's personal favorite Journey to Atlantis.

Sage is defintely a roller coaster lover, just like his daddy. I'm glad he has someone to share it with.

We took the kids to the Mormon Battalion this week and they had a blast! After we were done playing we had a picnic across the street at Heritage Park. It was a great day!

Beach Bums

Last weekend we decided to take the kids to the beach to celebrate Sage starting school the next week. Normally the kids are afraid of the water and Aurora is afraid of the sand, that all changed this time. The kids had tons of fun playing in the sand.

and building sand castles with kelp for the flags.

Sage then decided that we needed to bury Robert in the sand.

After seeing how much fun it was, Sage decided that he wanted to be buried in the sand.

Then much to my amazement Aurora decided she wanted to be buried. She flipped out though once she was completely buried.

After all that Aurora got brave and stepped out into the sand and never looked back. She finally realized what she had been missing.
It was a wonderful evening at the beach, full of firsts for the kids and lots of fun memories for our family.

Utah ~ June 2009

My Mom, Sage, Aurora and I just returned from a great trip to Utah for my Nephew's High school Graduation. Here's how it went:

June 3rd ~ Got up at 4:15am and loaded the van with last minute items and the kids and left the house at 5:00 am. We were in hopes that the kids would sleep but they were wide awake as soon as I put them into the van. I drove all the way to Mesquite, Nevada where my Mom and I traded places because I'm a wimp and don't like to drive the Virgin River Gorge. We stopped in Beaver, Utah for the night, cause the kids really needed to get out and run.

June 4th ~ Got up and left Beaver at 8:00am. We were driving past Springville and Sage insisted that we stop and buy a toy for Hayden so we went to Wal-Mart and picked up this Pin-Wheel and Basketball. We Got into Salt Lake City around Noon and went directly to see Hayden.

Then we drove to my Brother Danny's House in Kearns, Utah where I dropped off my Mom and visited while the kids played with their dogs Snoodle and Parker. I then took the kids to Robert's parent's house and we had dinner and met the kids newest cousin Joshua. He's soooo tiny! Then I loaded up the kids again and went back down to Spanish Fork to stay at my best friend Marci's house. Marci also married a Parker{no relation that we know of).

June 5th ~ We spent the morning playing with Aunt Marci, Uncle Shawn and cousin's Callie and Wade and then went to the park. We came home for naps and worked in the backyard and then Callie, Sage & Aurora played croquet in the backyard.

Sage hugging Callie after he accidentally wacked her in the leg with his croquet mallet.

We then found this Ginormous Bee in the backyard. Sage even rode the back of Uncle Shawn's Police Car.
June 6th ~ We spent most of the day inside because it was so cold and the Sage & Aurora's allergies were really acting up with all the pollen in the air. The kids took naps and then we went shopping and then came home and ordered Papa Murphy's Pizza(the best pizza ever). We went for a walk along the stream near the house before bed and then came home and put the kids to bed and the adults stayed up till 12:30 am talking and laughing.
June 7th ~ I woke up at 7am and got the van packed up and said goodbye to Marci, Shawn, Callie & Wade at 8:30 and left for Salt Lake City to pick up my Mom and visit Hayden one last time before we left. We just added these pretty white flowers to the pink roses we took him a few days earlier. I really miss him and can't wait until April 2010 when we move him here to San Diego.
Then I dropped my Mom off at my Brother's Ward so she could be there when my Nephew was set apart as an Elder before he leaves for Snow College, where he'll be playing Football. I went and got gas and then we headed out. We stopped in St. George, Utah at Fazoli's for dinner(yum-o).

I snapped this after we came out of the Virgin River Gorge. The kids were watching a movie. We stopped at the Virgin River Hotel in Mesquite, Nevada for the night so the kids could run around.
June 8th ~ We left around 8am and headed for home. Sage was being super silly and was really enjoying watching his favorite movie off all-time, Ducktales: The Movie.

Aurora spent the entire trip home with her legs propped on the sides of her seat. She's such a little spaz.
It was a really fun trip, but we really missed Robert and are glad to be home. I don't think I'll ever travel with the kids without Robert until the kids are much older.

Child-like Wonder

I was looking at the disk of pictures from the photo shoot that my friend Angie did for us, and found these pictures. I hadn't noticed them earlier. Sage was so enamored with the beach and wanted to see EVERYTHING! Aurora was just happy to be held and didn't want anything to do with the sand or water.

Sage and I looking at the crabs that were hiding in the shallow water.

Sage drawing in the sand with his feet.

Sage running all over.

Cootie

For Christmas Lydia got Sage the "Cootie" game. I used to have this game as a kid and loved it, I was so excited to play with him, but he didn't want me to play with him, he wanted Lydia to play with him. Sage was so proud of himself, here they are with their "Cooties".

Ah.... Young Love

Since the first week of Preschool, Sage has been telling me about his Friend Analia and how she's "Sooooo Pretty!". Well.... today he made his move. They were walking back from lunch and he decided he'd try to hold her hand.

Once they were back in the classroom, they sat next to each other did their activities and played with their other friends. Then later, when they went outside for Recess, they played together and were inseparable.

Sage picked her a Dandelion. If you look close you can see it in his right hand. These two pictures are my favorite. I love how she's twirling her hair, and is all giggles!

They are the best of friends and love to play together. I guess we'll have to schedule some play dates. Hopefully they'll be in the same Kindergarten Class.

Proud Mommy Moment

I've got a Proud Mommy Moment that is going to make you all cry today. Yesterday while sitting in church; Sage was drawing pictures of our family. After he had drawn pictures of Robert, Me, Himself, Aurora, Grandma & Grandpa, he looked up at me and said...."Mommy, I'm gonna draw Hayden." I got choked up and started to cry. He then drew this, and the tears came and were uncontrollable.

If you've seen THIS post, then you'll definitely recognize the resemblance minus the engraving of Christ and the Baby. It was so sweet to know that he remembers Hayden and all we've told about his big brother. It makes me feel like I'm at least doing one thing right.

Chirstmas Morning

Christmas was great! The kids had fun, Sage got what he wanted and Aurora is very happy with her new presents. Sage played Santa and handed out all the presents, he loved it. Here's a few pictures from the day.

Aurora opening her cooking set. She also got dishes and food for her cupboard. Soon she'll have a fridge and oven/stove to match.

Aurora also got a doll complete with a little bed, and when you flip it over it's a cradle. She also got a stroller to push her doll in. She loves playing Mommy.

Sage opening one of his games for his new V-Smile that his Uncle Joey and Aunt Amy bought him and Aurora.

Sage opening the gifts in his stocking

Aurora loves the her new hair rubber bands, they don't pull her hair out.

The kids in their new pj's made by Grandma. They opened these on Christmas Eve. Robert and I even have pj's that match the kids.
We hope that you all had a great Christmas and that you have a fabulous New Year!

Father & Daughter

At our photo session, my friend Angie captured these super sweet moments of Robert & Aurora.

Although he'd never admit it, Aurora had Robert wrapped around not just one finger, but around both fists. All see has to do is look at him with her sad puppy dog face and he's hooked. It is so sweet to see.

Isn't that the sweetest thing you've ever seen?

Pirate Treasure

Okay, so there's no picture for this post but I'll do my best to paint one for you.

Sage and Aurora were in their room playing and then come out to the living room in nothing but their underwear and diaper with their pirate gear on and their telescopes tucked in their underwear and diaper. Sage then says: "A pirate, a pirate, a pirate says Argh!!!!" then Aurora says: "Piat say Argh!!" Sage then proceeds to tell Robert and I that He and Aurora are good pirates and that we are a pirate family, and that he needs the map so that we can hunt for buried pirate treasure. The kids love playing pirates and hunting for treasure. Occasionally Robert and I make up a map and take the kids treasure hunting. We want to get a GPS device so we can take them Geocaching. I know they would love it.

I sure do love my two goofy kids!!!

Adventures at Sea World

We decided that we would do one more fun thing before our vacation officially ended. We kept Sage home from Preschool and picked up Jessica & Savannah from school early and had tons of fun playing, riding rides, and touching and feeding animals.

I love that we live so close to so many fun things. I love to just take off and enjoy a few hours at an amusement park having fun with my family. Just in case you didn't know. Jessica & Savannah aren't my real daughters. They might as well be though and they do call me Mom sometimes. I've helped raise them since they were born. When Jessica was a baby, every one thought she was mine, even though I was only 17. They are like Sisters to Sage & Aurora and we wouldn't have it any other way. I remember when Robert & I first moved here from Salt Lake, and I was trying to explain to him how much Jessica & Savannah meant to me. He thought I was weird to be so attached to Daycare Kids. He took one look at them and fell in love with them. They are definitely more than just Daycare Kids, their Family.
