Flash Back Friday - Vandalism

Okay... so this flashback isn't too far back, but it's still in the past.

Last week on my birthday I went to Young Women's and during the activity Kelley, Lillian and Lindsey snuck out and decorated(vandalized) my van. They heped make my birthday a memorable one. I love my girls so much!

FB Friday - Girls Night

Today's flashback features two of my best friends. We wanted a Girl's Day while our husband's went paint balling, so we got together to make all the chocolate desserts for out first annual chocolate party that was held in April of 2006.

Flash Back Friday ~ Handmade Outfits

Anyone who knew me as a little girl knows two things. One, that every Sunday my hair would be in intricate curls and Two, that I had a new dress almost every Sunday. My Mother was a hairdresser and so she insisted that me hair be neat and curly for Church. We would start on Saturday night by washing my hair and rolling it into sponge rollers, then in the morning I would have hair like Shirley Temple.

She loved to sew and was always making me a new dress or outfit of some kind. She is the most amazing seamstress I've ever met. I wish she still had the energy to sew like she did then.

Flash Back Friday ~ 80's Hair & My Mom

One of my earliest memories is of my Mom and I sitting watching Doris Day and Rock Hudson movies on Saturday nights while she would braid my wet hair into teeny tiny braids. Then in the morning my hair would look like this.

This is what my hair would look like on Monday morning.

These pictures were taken in the house I live in now. I had totally awesome 80's hair didn't I?
This next one is one of my favorites of my mom. I just love the expression on her face! This was taken in our old house on Bluebird St. just around the corner from where we live now.
Unfortunately my Grandpa sold that house about 10 years ago. I always wanted to move into that house after I got married. I was and still is the perfect little Craftsman Style House. I'll have to drive past it today and take a picture. I used to dream of restoring it, I guess I'll have to settle for restoring my house.

Flash Back Friday - Philippines

My oldest Brother, Danny served his mission for our Church in the Philippines. The girl in this picture's name is Delhia. My brother was teaching her family. We became Pen-Pals. I remember getting a letter in the mail one day in a red, white and blue envelope with a lot of stamps on it, and being very excited that I received mail from so far away. I wish I still had the letter, but unfortunately it is no where to be found. I often wonder what happened to her and what she is doing.

Flash Back Friday - Grandma

Hello! I'm back and after re-installing my computer with all the software and pictures I'm finally done, except for the printer. Anyway. On to Flash Back Friday.

Today I am sharing a letter that my Grandma Bigler wrote to me for my First Birthday. I have always cherished this letter, even more so now that she's gone. Tomorrow is her birthday, and the 10th was the 2 year anniversary of her death. It was a hard day, and it's hard not having her here. She was truly the best Grandma that anyone could ask for. When I was little every Saturday she would fix me an omelet and grits and we would read the funnies curled up in her bed. I hope you enjoy the letter.

Flash Back Friday - 1987

I was 6 years old. I am wearing a sweater and skirt bought in Ireland by my Grandma & Grandpa Vallieres. This was one of my favorite outfits for church when I was little. I still have it, packed away in my hope chest.

Flash Back Friday - 1981

Today I am taking you back to the year I was born, 1981. This is the to my Mom's Baby Shower for me that her friends threw for her. I don't know what happened to the bottom left corner, but it's gone. I didn't know that people did baby showers after a baby was born, I always thought they were supposed to be before the baby came.

Flash Back Friday - First Grade

Today I am taking you back to 1987. I was in First Grade. During that Summer my Beloved Bunny Rabbit "Thumper" died, I remember crying for days, until my Mom sat me down and told me that Bunny Rabbits went to Heaven too and that one day I would see him again. My favorite Movie of all time was released this year Dirty Dancing ."Nobody puts Baby in a corner."
