Sassy Mouth

Anyone who knew my Grandma Bigler, me as a child and now knows Aurora will know that she's is a carbon copy of us. Her sassy mouth originated with her Great Grandma Bigler. I inherited it and passed it directly onto Aurora.

This morning when she woke up she picked out her clothes, shoes and accessories for the day and then proceeded to pick out matching clothes for her sister, Lydia.

They are both wearing dark denim shorts, black shirts, yellow flip flops, Blake Shelton hats and glasses(Aurora's are fake).

After they were dressed, Lydia was putting Aurora's hair in a ponytail and said something sassy to Aurora. Aurora's sassy response was...... "Excuse me? Who's buying you ice cream today? That's right, me! I can always change my mind you know?!"

This little girl cracks me up! She even has a certain facial expression that reminds me exactly of my Grandma Bigler. Aurora was only two weeks old when my Grandma passed away so it is amazing to see her everyday in my little sassy mouthed Princess.

Dr. Who

Sage and Aurora have been obsessed with Dr. Who for about a year now and are always re-enacting episodes. Sage finally realized that he could build his own T.A.R.D.I.S out of Lego's. I love these kids and their imaginations!

Where Did You Go?

Wow... life has been crazy busy and has not slowed down enough for me to get my thoughts written down. Homeschooling this last year was crazy and at times I thought it would do me in. I am glad to report that we all survived although, just barely.

The beginning of 2015 brought a switch of job locations for Robert and Sage earning his Arrow of Light in Cub Scouts. We then spent 5 months in hell looking for a house. I don't recommend it if you want to keep your sanity.

Aurora turned 8 in February and was baptized with her friend Keenan in April. She started Girl Scouts and Activity Days.

I am working on overcoming my social anxiety and learning other ways to deal with it besides medication. So far every medication I've tried leaves me feeling like a zombie and takes away my ability to care about things like housework. I've recently discovered an herbal remedy that seems to be helping to relax me.

Lydia finished another semester of college and now has just one class left before she earns her Associates Degree in Deaf Studies.

In May we ended up having to replace my Mom's car with something more reliable. In addition to our Mazda MPV we are now the proud owners of a Honda Pilot.

The kids finished the 2014-2015 School Year and will be going into the 6th and 3rd grades. I can't believe how fast my babies are growing!

Sage will be turning 11 this Friday the 17th and will officially be a Boy Scout. He is so excited and cannot wait until he is 12 so he can spend more time with Robert camping and earn actual Merit Badges.

Aurora's Baptism

Aurora was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today. We are so proud of the choice she had made and cannot wait to see her testimony continue to grow.

Aurora Turns Seven!!!

We had so much fun celebrating Aurora's 7th birthday. We had a family dinner and opened some presents followed by cake and a piñata.

Lydia and I  made a banner and hung snowflakes from the ceiling for the FROZEN theme. Aurora ended up taking a much needed nap before the festivities.

Piñata's are always a hit!

Aurora On Ice

We had Aurora's birthday party early this year. She was able to pick 2 friends to go with her to Disney on Ice. Two of her friends already had tickets for the same night so she ended up being able to have 4 friends join her instead.

First, we headed to Chick-fil-a for dinner then next door to Viejas Center for the show. Hannah and Bella had seats on the opposite side of the arena so we said our goodbyes and went to find our seats with Casey and Gabby.

The girls and I had a great time and can't wait to do it again!

The Coolest Brr...thday!

Aurora has been begging for years to see a Disney on Ice Show. We decided to celebrate her birthday party early and let her take two friends to the show with her. We'll start with dinner at Chick-fil-a and then finish our night with Disney's Rockin' Ever After Ice Show.

RAIDERS NATION!

We are not normally a sport loving family but, Lydia LOVES the Raiders so naturally Aurora LOVES them too.

The next day at school was Charger's Spirit Day but in true Aurora fashion she just had to rebel and wear her Raider's Colors. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to let her do it but after thinking about it I am glad that she is not a "follower". She doesn't care about what everyone else is doing and is a force to be reckoned with.

Miss Sassy

Anyone who has ever met Aurora knows that she is the sassiest girl alive. She saw this denim jacket at Target a few weeks ago and flat out insisted that she have it for her birthday outfit. Our conversation went like this:

Aurora: "Mom! Oh my goodness! LOOK at this gorgeous jacket.

Me: " Yes, Aurora. It is gorgeous."

Aurora: "I must have it so I can be a fashion girl!"

Me: "I don't know Aurora, maybe for Easter"

Aurora: " No... I want it now. You can take back all my birthday presents but I MUST have this jacket!"

Me: "Okay, are you sure?"

Aurora: "Duh, Mom!"

Here she is in her new birthday outfit that she finally got to wear this last Sunday since she's been sick the last 2 weeks.

It's a good thing she's adorable.

Can It Be???

I can't believe that my Baby will be 6 years old next week. It seems like just yesterday we brought her home from the Hospital.

This year we are actually forgoing a big party and will be spending 2 days at Disneyland. However she has  been asking for a slumber/tea/dance party. She's picked one friend to come over and we'll do all the girly things that Aurora has been dying to do.

I made up two invitations because Aurora has this obsession with invitations

Over The Rainbow

Aurora has been begging me to make her class some treats like the ones I used to make for Sage's classes at least once a month. Yes, I was that awesome Mom who made something totally adorable for every holiday I could come up with.

I've been putting it off all school year because my desire to craft has been on hiatus for the last 2 1/2 years. After scouring Pinterest I finally found something that I could make using MDS and Costco Photo.

I made this little cloud tag and had it printed on photo paper. I cut it out and layered it on top of some Pink Pirouette cardstock, punched two small holes with my crop-a-dile and stuck the lollipop though it. For her teacher I just turned the cloud into a tag and tied it to a giant Hershey Kiss.

I think they turned out pretty darn cute for my first attempt back at crafting. I've got to get it together.

All I Want For Christmas

...Is my two front teeth.

Aurora has lost three teeth in less than 24 hours. She is very excited for the tooth fairy to come tonight. This last one marks five teeth since June 2012. She's been saving her Tooth Fairy money and after tonight she'll have enough to buy a new  My Little Pony.

All Sewn Up

Aurora is seriously the craziest, cutest, most adorable, brave little girl I know. She fell off her bed yesterday and had to be taken to the ER to get 4 stitches in her chin. She didn't cry once and told everyone that she was going to be scar twins with her Mommy.

After she got home she said "Mom, I'm basically the coolest Princess Superhero ever! I didn't even cry or anything!". She definitely keeps us laughing and we are blessed to have her in our family.

Bike Riding

This month for Homeschool P.E. we focused on bike riding. Sage already knew how to ride but Aurora wasn't quite there yet. On September 1st we took the training wheels and pedals off her bike and had her glide to learn how to balance her bike. After a lot of practice she finally got the hang of it, so we took her to a big empty parking lot and let her put all of her hard work to good use.

Look Mom, I Made a Funny!

Is what Aurora says when she wants to tell me a joke or act goofy. Robert was getting ready for work thins morning and even though he still had 20 minutes before he had to leave Sage was very worried about him being on time. He finally said

"Dad, you have to be on time or you'll get fired and then you won't have a job and you'll be home all day and we won't be able to fun things with you home, only Mom does fun things with us."

It was pretty funny! The funniest thing said this weekend came out of Aurora's mouth. Robert was in the kitchen making honey mustard dressing. Aurora walked in and saw him mixing the mustard, honey and lemon juice together. She flipped out and said

"Dad what are you doing?! Are you trying to poison me with that?!"

Our kids are seriously the funniest things ever and often provide us with free entertainment.
