Update

So, your probably wondering why things were changing on the blog. A few weeks ago I was contacted by a Homeschooling Blog and asked if I could write for their blog once a week since they currently do not have anyone who Homeschools through a Charter School. I jumped at the chance but they suggested I add links to my Homeschool inspiration sites and tabs for certain bits of information. Things will most likely keep changing just because I like to mess with things. I am so excited to share our Homeschool adventures and talk about how it's changed our lives for the better. I hope that maybe I can inspire someone to join us on this crazy and amazing adventure.

I saw this online when I did a Google image search for homeschool last week and I just had to share.
{It's just my personal opinion}

Mother's Day 2012

Mother's Day has never been one of my favorite holidays. It was always a reminder that my two oldest were not here in earth with me and the last two years have made it even worse without my own mother here.

Since we are taking the kids to Disneyland next month we decided not to to presents for Mother's/Father's Day for each other. This year Robert and the kid's made me Creme Brulee Overnight French Toast complete with strawberries and whipped cream for breakfast. It was sooooooo good!

For Lunch after church Robert made me Ranch Chicken from my Pioneer Woman Cookbook. It was a heart attack on a plate but oh so delicious! He'll definitely have to take his cholesterol meds tonight:)

This Mother's Day I am grateful for an amazing husband and for my four fabulous children who bless my life each day.

Is It Really Possible?

...that my boy will be eight in just 2 months? To make it easier on Robert's parents we are having Sage baptized in Salt Lake in July. Here's the mock announcement I've made up. I'll be taking a new picture Sunday after church though. I am beyond excited for him to be taking this big step.

So Blessed!

Lately I have been VERY frustrated with Robert's job. They've been messing with his schedule a lot and it's hard to get used to. Just when I think I've had enough of his job I am reminded how blessed we are that he has such an amazing job. Robert brought home Sage's monthly prescription tonight and this is what I saw.

Yep, apparently his prescription would cost $509.07 but thanks to our insurance that is provided by Robert's job we only have to pay $5.00. I am very thankful for the stability of Robert's job, we truly are blessed!

2012-2013 Curriculum

I finally had time to sit down and pick out Sage and Aurora's 2012-2013 curriculum. I'm really happy with this years choices and cannot wait for the school year to start.

Sage will be doing regular Homeschooling again this year with me at home. I really love the one on one time this gives us and he really thrives off of it.

Sage's Curriculum

Math
Singapore Approach Math

Language Arts
Excursions Anthology
Science

Science in a Nutshell

Aurora will be participating in the A.I.M Program which means she'll go in two days a week from 8:30 - 2:30 and do all of her Language Arts, Math and Science with an actual class. It will be really good for her to be with the other kids since she is such a social butterfly and she needs the structure.

Both Sage and Aurora will be doing Social Studies at home. This year we will learn about the Native Americans and focus on one Tribe a month.

It's going to another great year of Homeschooling and we are all looking forward to it!

A Year Later...

I finally have the school room the way I want it. It took almost a year of rearranging furniture but it's finally arranged perfectly. I still have to get a comforter for the guest bed so everything matches and get some better bookcases but I'm really liking it so far. We even have a computer station set up with our old laptop for the kids online curriculum. Hopefully by the end of summer I can have it finished.
